#189: When to Talk More Than Listen
#189: When to Talk More Than Listen
In this Friday fact episode, I am sharing a quote by James Gills, the only man to complete 6xs Double Ironman (I mistakenly said triathalon in the episode), and when he was asked how he did it, he said this, “I’ve learned to talk to myself instead of listening to myself.” I shared how this quote landed for me in this brief episode.
In this episode, we discuss:
- How toxic our thoughts are and we should spend more time talking to ourselves instead of listening to ourselves. By taking ownership of the words we use to talk to ourselves we are giving ourselves a fighting chance.
- I shared a personal story on how I have been focusing on the words I speak as opposed to the words I hear myself say, especially when I get into a negative spiral.
